- If you know you’ll be getting your medical exam several weeks or months in advance, do what you can to cut out any bad habits now. For instance, you could save yourself thousands of dollars over the life of your policy if you can quit smoking and drop a couple pounds before the test.
- Although it should probably goes without saying, do not take any drugs the day of your exam or the days before. That means alcohol as well, the last thing you need is to you’re your exam with a hangover.
- Try to limit the amount of high cholesterol or salty foods you intake in the days leading up to your exam. Believe it or not, these unhealthy foods can have a major impact on important readings such as your blood pressure cholesterol levels. Also avoid coffee or drinks with caffeine if possible.
- Another good tip, don’t participate in any strenuous activity the day of your test or the days before. Let your body get plenty of rest before your test, not to mention a good night’s sleep as well.
- Finally, try to schedule your exam in the morning and on a weekend if you can. Your body will be less stressed than if you try to squeeze in your appointment before work on a Monday.
